Married!

So, Joe and I are married now. It's still pretty crazy to me and I say at least a couple times a week, either to him or to myself, "hey, we're married!" I wonder how long before this sinks in? (How long did it take for you to get used to being married?) Since my blog is going to be a "journal" of sorts for us to remember life by, I'm going to do a little back-tracking these next few posts and try to write about our wedding planning, the day and our honeymoon.

But for now, here is one picture taken that day by the wonderful, Lauren Thorn! Check out her blog at http://laurenm83.blogspot.com/ and book her for  your next shoot! She's great & we love her and her husband, Justin as they are good friends of ours. You know we had to have "fireworks pictures"--we got married on the 4th of July!

More to come soon about wedding planning but for now, I'm off to write some thank-you notes and babysit! :) Have a great Friday everyone!

Here goes nothing!

So this has been, as they say, "a long time coming." I've been entertaining the idea of blogging for months upon months, if not over a year. I read a lot of blogs and often toss around ideas in my mind that I want to blog about. My husband even started a blog...but I was still putting it off. Honestly, I think I was putting it off because I thought, can I really write anything profound, worth reading, worth sharing...but really, the question that came to mind was, "what is the point in a blog?"

Well, today I ran across a blog in which the writer discussed the reasons she blogged...none of them having to do with needing to be profound! And it hit me, I'm not blogging with others as my main focus, but as my own journal; a way to look back on the past and remember...remember the hard times that we made it through, to see growth, maturity...and the like.

So, welcome to my blog and well, here goes nothing!
